A call came in at about 3:14 p.m. Tuesday for a fire in a single-story house on the northwest side.
When crews arrived, they saw flames coming out of the side of the house, officials said. The flames hit the neighboring two-story house.
The occupant of the home was safely evacuated and was not treated for injuries. She had 10 cats in the home and officials say they have not accounted for all the animals yet.
The neighboring house is vacant and is the site of the most of the flames, officials said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been announced.
