SAN ANTONIO — A Jeep slammed into a laundromat on the southeast side Tuesday evening. Witnesses say the driver jumped a curb, took out a bus bench, and then crashed into the E-Z Wash. That's at the corner of Roland and Pecan Valley.
The fire department incident commander said nobody inside was hurt but one woman standing nearby had minor injuries from flying debris.
The windows of two cars were shattered as well.
Firefighters said there was an odor of natural gas but they were able to shut off the utilities without incident.
The driver was taken to the hospital. Witnesses told police they thought he was having a medical issue, but there was no word on his condition.
It took firefighters quite a while to shore up the gaping hole in the wall to stabilize the structure.
