SAN ANTONIO — A "major accident" on the southbound lanes of I-35 near Theo Avenue led to brief a highway closure Thursday afternoon after an 18-wheeler caught fire, along with potentially one other vehicle, according to authorities.
SAPD says traffic was diverted around the accident while first responders cleaned the scene up. Video sent in by KENS 5 eyewitness Melissa Sanchez showed the big rig engulfed in flames, sending a large plume of smoke into the sky.
According to officials with the San Antonio Fire Department, no injuries have been reported. It's unknown as of now how the accident happened.
