SAN ANTONIO — A man in his 30s was shot and killed inside a building housing an illegal gambling operation, the San Antonio Police Department said.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of Hayden Drive on the city's southwest side.
Authorities said when they arrived, they found the man with gunshot wounds to his stomach and head. Emergency Medical Services attempted live-saving measures, but he passed away.
Police believe some sort of altercation led to the shooting, but they are still investigating exactly what took place. Multiple people were detained.
SAPD is calling the location an illegal gambling business as the room was filled with slot machines. No other injuries were reported.
