Alyssa Muñoz is a digital content producer at KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
Alyssa is a native of San Antonio and grew up on the south side. She graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in communication arts and a focus in multimedia production in May 2023.
Driven by a passion for writing, creativity and storytelling, Alyssa pursued a career in journalism, joining the KENS 5 digital team in February 2024.
While in college, she was the news director at UIWtv, the student-run news station at UIW. There she gained hands-on experience in various areas of news production including producing and directing, while also strengthening her skills in journalistic writing, reporting and video editing. Additionally, Alyssa was awarded four NATAS Student Production Awards for her work with her team at UIWtv.
Along with news, Alyssa has a love for the world of filmmaking. She was involved in multiple student film projects throughout college, including her directorial-debut student film that was selected and screened at the 44th Annual CineFestival in July 2023.
She also previously interned in other areas of communications, including social media marketing and public relations.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys going to the gym, running, going to the movies, watching football, collecting vinyl records, traveling and going to concerts.
