Cynthia Lopez is a photojournalist for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
A San Antonio native, Roosevelt Rough Rider and UTSA Communications graduate, she didn’t see herself becoming a photojournalist at first.
She was interested in videography and making a career out of it, but it wasn’t until she began her journey into journalism in 2022 at KRGV that she found her calling.
In just one year, she covered inclement weather, immigration issues, Space X launches and a presidential visit .
After cutting her teeth in the Rio Grande Valley, she returned home to cover the community she was raised in. Now she wants to tell the stories that matter to San Antonians like herself.
She likes gaming, crocheting and sitting in Santikos watching anything that’s showing.
