Justin Calderon is a Multi-Skilled Journalist for "Great Day SA" at KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
Justin grew up in Ralls, Texas, a small town with fewer than 2,000 people about 30 minutes east of Lubbock. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Texas Tech with a double major in criminal concentration sociology and psychology, but was always inspired by local journalists and broadcast media.
He started his TV career as a Master Control Operator at KJTV - FOX 34 in Lubbock. He eventually became a photojournalist and worked there for three years until he had an opportunity to take a similar role with KENS 5 in 2016.
Justin moved to the "Great Day SA" team a few years later. With his drive and determination, he was able to launch a successful segment called "Taste Buds," which has featured over 60 different local restaurants over the years.
In 2024, he officially became a Multi-Skilled Journalist. He enjoys the value he can bring in front of and behind the camera. He's also a member of the KENS 5 "Neighborhood Eats" team, showcasing local restaurants on KENS 5 News.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys collecting vintage T-shirts, playing tennis, camping, barbecuing and producing music.
Justin loves telling slice-of-life stories for his community with his unique, camera-driven storytelling approach.
