Maggie Laughlin is a weekend morning forecaster and weekday reporter for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
Previously, she served as a weather anchor and weekday MSJ for KEPR Action News in Tri-Cities, Washington. Maggie is a Virginia native who earned her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism at Marymount University. While earning her degree, Maggie interned at ABC 7 in Washington D.C.
Maggie knew she wanted to be a journalist at the age of 14 after volunteering at Charterhouse Schools, an organization dedicated to helping children who come from underprivileged households. She formed a close bond with the students at Charterhouse School and this ultimately led her to want to continue serving the community by giving a voice to the voiceless. She finds her true passion through volunteering for similar community organizations.
Growing up as a competitive dancer and cheerleader, Maggie embraced her competitive nature, earning a position as a cheerleader for the Washington Commanders and competing in state pageants. She views both endeavors as a way to connect to her community.
Maggie’s philosophy as a weather forecaster and journalist revolves around protecting people and property and keeping the public informed.
Aside from volunteering, you can find Maggie instructing barre and pilates classes or scoping out the trendiest new coffee shops and restaurants. Maggie is so excited to immerse herself into all the culture and charm San Antonio has to offer.
