Natalie Morera is the assistant news director for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
The Miami native joined KENS 5 in October 2023 after spending more than 11 years at WPLG Local 10 News covering South Florida.
She worked as a producer before becoming an executive producer. Her roles included managing the morning and daytime news shows, overseeing the investigative team and producing primetime specials.
Her specials “Eco-Hero Antarctica: Expedition to the Bottom of the Earth,” “Saving Biscayne Bay,” and “Haiti’s First Lady: The Exclusive Interview,” earned NATAS Suncoast Regional Emmy awards.
She also oversaw elections coverage, which led to a multi-part investigative series on ghost candidates running in Florida Senate races in 2020. The series earned another NATAS Suncoast Regional Emmy, this time in investigative reporting.
She has covered major events, including the death of Fidel Castro, the Parkland school shooting and the Surfside Condo collapse. She also produced live coverage from London for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the historic Platinum Jubilee months prior, and the coronation of King Charles III in May 2023.
She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida’s Nicholson School of Communication. Go Knights!
