Vanessa Croix is a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
Vanessa joined the KENS 5 news team in December 2018 after spending two years at KAGS news in Bryan/College Station as the evening anchor and reporter.
Vanessa spent over a decade as a high school teacher and counselor before taking a leap of faith in 2016 to pursue her dream of working in TV news.
She taught and counseled close to 2,000 students in her career as an educator and credits her students for inspiring her to follow her goals.
During her career working in Spring Branch ISD in Houston, she was recognized by Texas A&M University and the University of Chicago for her outstanding dedication to her students.
Vanessa is a native Texan and small-town girl from Tomball, a suburb of Houston.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling: From exploring the Andes Mountains in Ecuador to riding a motorcycle to South Dakota, she’s always up for a new adventure. She also enjoys a good Crossfit WOD, running and cycling.
Vanessa has never met a stranger and loves meeting new people.
