2 friends + 1 dream = delicious sandwiches at Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery | Neighborhood Eats

These tall sandwiches will exceed your highest expectations for the eatery!

SAN ANTONIO — Opening the sandwich gates of heaven in the Alamo City are Texas A&M aggies Holland Lawrence and Marc Fogelsong.

“The food, the beer and the customer service are the three pillars for this business,” Fogelsong said.

The two men met on campus, became friends and shared a dream of owning and operating a rustic-modern restaurant like: Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery at 8403 Broadway.

It may be cheesy but this isn’t your grandmother’s sandwich folks! Here’s what Fogelsong suggests you try if you visit at night.

“You have to get a pizza, the sourdough crust is amazing,” he said.

Lawrence says you can jazz up your favorite pie or try something new with fresh ingredients.

“Marbled rye bread, we ferment our sauerkraut, brisket is coming from dean and peeler which is south of town,” Lawrence said.

Taste the citrus zest in the restaurant’s ‘Classic Lox’ on a sourdough bagel. You can expect veggies, lemon dale cream cheese and salmon.

A new menu item, the hash with pastrami brisket is sure to make you feel like you’ve bitten into the best comfort food you’ve had in a while!

‘The Hot Club’ and ‘The Ranch Hand’ are crowd-pleasers. ‘The Ranch Hand’ has beer-marinated chicken, with avocado ranch and bacon.

Last but not least, ‘The Smash Burger’ has onions, bacon, beef, Tejano rub and pickled jalapenos.

These are just a few of the tasty dishes you can expect from Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery at 8403 Broadway.
