File's Burgers offers comfort food on menu of excellence | Neighborhood Eats

This west-side burger joint is an all family affair.

SAN ANTONIO — It's on the west side of San Antonio, and it is an all family affair at File's Burgers!

"It’s really nice, actually," said restaurant employee and family member Hector Enriquez. "I’m a really big fan of it. It is sort of like working with people you have known your entire life. It makes it kind of easy. It adds to the experience of the restaurant."

And that's the great thing about File’s, it doesn’t pretend to be anything they are not. They are definitely "Puro San Antonio" as they say.

"Essentially we ditched the entire fine dining experience and tried to find something more comforting. More relatable," said Hector.

You're gonna find lots of those American and southwest friendly favorites like hamburgers and nachos, but with that hidden family secret in each dish. We talked to one customer who summed it up best.

"I’m not one to really adventure the menu, but I have because we come here so often," said James Ayers. "I’ve not a had a bad thing here yet."

We tried three of their most popular menu items starting with their tacos. They were great! And Tuesday is the day for those at File's.

"Every Tuesday you get four for the price of three and it is one of our top selling items," said Hector.

Next we tried the Large Loaded Nachos! And listen to how those are put together!

"It is a loaded tostada," said Hector. "We load it up with beans, cheese and ground beef as well. We throw some jalapeno’s and sour cream on the side in case you wanna add some spicing too it."

And last for me, but not at the very least, the burger! The Bacon Deluxe is their most popular, and you can probably figure out why! The Barrio Burger is also one their better sold items consisting of meat, cheese, Frito chips and refried beans! Am I kidding! No I am not! But for me it was the Double Cheesy Deluxe Burger! And once again, not kidding! It was really tasty! Customer James described it as having that flap top flavor, and I'd agree with that.

File's has been around since only December 2018, still young in the grand scheme of things.

"We love seeing new customers come in," said Hector. "We love them enjoying the food and getting feedback. And then over time, week in and week out, they keep coming in and eventually they become regulars. We mainly did this to help out our father, but we are starting to enjoy this. We actually like do love being here. Family first and the food is delicious."

You can find File's at 543 Ceralvo Street! Check 'em out! Go hungry!
