Family-owned far south-side restaurant offers up huge burgers and mouthwatering Tex-Mex l Neighborhood Eats

This Pleasanton Road restaurant offers more than 30 different burger options.

SAN ANTONIO — Everybody Loves Raymond's Hamburgers & More is a far south San Antonio staple that has been filling the bellies of hungry patrons with its huge portions and delicious, eclectic flavors for over 10 years.

"I'd say our 6-inch burger weighs in at a little over a pound," owner Raymond Diaz says.

Originally known as Alicia's Mexican Restaurant when the location first opened in 1991, Raymond took his family’s restaurant to sizzling new heights 10 years ago

“It started off as breakfast and lunch, kind of taqueria on the deep south side. Now we’re 90% hamburgers and Tex-Mex food," he said. "Everybody always liked our burgers, so we expanded the burger menu from there, and now we’re at like 30 different options of burgers."

Everybody Loves Raymond's offers more than just savory burgers, with daily specials and a variety of delicious menu items.

“We have steak day on Tuesday, and some days we’ll do chicken fried steaks, some days we’ll do a daily special of barbecue. We’ll do turkey plates on Thursdays. A little bit of everything," he said.

The restaurant has long business hours and keeps an ever-changing menu, such as a huge brisket cheddar burger, cheese enchiladas and carne asada fries. There's even a homely dining area. The food and the atmosphere is appealing enough to make the scenic drive to San Antonio's south side.

"If you want the best burgers in San Antonio, we’re here off 18600 Pleasanton Road, six miles outside Loop 410 and two miles before Loop 1604."
