SAN ANTONIO — Organizers came together Tuesday morning to celebrate 45 years of serving others at the annual "Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner."
During the press conference, organizers said that the event is now considered the largest Thanksgiving dinner in the country.
The dinner serves 25,000 people with the purpose of giving back.
To prepare for this year, Walmart has announced they are donating $35,000 to the dinner.
The City of San Antonio and Walmart make this event possible. As for volunteers, more than 4,000 of them are needed to pull the event off.
After the press conference, Mayor Nirenberg launched this year's volunteer registration.
The actual dinner will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center located at 900 E. Market St. on Thanksgiving Day.
