SAN ANTONIO — Beloved children's character, Pigeon, is bringing his wacky antics to the theater stage here in San Antonio this month.
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is based on the classic book by Mo Willems, the award-winning author also behind the series, Elephant and Piggie.
The musical is coming to the Magik Theatre Feb. 10 - March 17. The story follows the Pigeon's journey of finding his "thing" with the help of the local bus driver.
In honor of the public transportation theme, the Magik is offering a bus driver appreciation discount of 15% on the closing day of Sunday, March 17. That is also the day before Transit Appreciation Day on March 18. Transit drivers should use the promo code TDAD15 to receive the discount. Additonally, all VIA employees are eligible for 20% off the regular ticket price through the run of the show by using discount code VIA20 with proof of I.D.

The show also kicks off Saturday with an opening night festival, "Opening Night Party in the Park," at Hemisfair starting at 4:30 p.m. The event will feature live music, crafts, a raffle, and live pigeons. It will also include a reading of Don't Let Pigeon Drive the Bus by special guest Jeffrey C. Arndt, VIA President and CEO at 5:30 p.m.
