BOERNE, Texas — The countdown for the holiday season has begun, and the City of Boerne is opening a fun, family-friendly way to ring it in.
An iconic winter scene is returning to the Hill Country Mile with an outdoor ice rink opening for the first time on Thanksgiving.
The rink is located at Waterworks Terrace at 210 W. Blanco Road, just across from Main Plaza.
It will be open on November 23 and remain open until December 31 from 3 to 10 p.m. every day.
They recommend you reserve your skating time online because walk-up skating will be very limited.
Prices range from $15-$22 based on the day of the week and the time you’d like to skate. The cost includes skate rental and one hour on the ice. Everybody must sign a waiver to skate.
Kids three and under are free. Kids 12 and under will require supervision by an adult while skating. And kids five have to have an adult skater with them out on the ice.
They will have dolphin skate aids available for little ones to sit on and be pushed around the ice by an adult.
