SAN ANTONIO — The cast of Broadway's sensation WICKED will defy gravity and return to San Antonio for three weeks this winter to perform a whopping 24 shows.
The performances will take place at the Majestic Theatre from Dec. 20, 2023 through Jan. 7, 2024.
The story shows a different perspective on the classic Wizard of Oz tale. It follows the origins of the fiery and misunderstood Elphaba, better known as the Wicked Witch of the West, and her unlikely friendship with Glenda, the Good Witch.
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello with musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento.
WICKED is now the fourth-longest running Broadway show and is now in its 20th year.
