SAN ANTONIO — Clarke Finney, co-host of KENS 5's "Great Day SA," posted her first message on social media Monday since she faced a medical emergency in October.
She said she suffered a hypoxic brain injury, a serious medical condition that forms due to a restriction on the oxygen supplied to the brain.
She has been hospitalized and going through recovery since that time and has not appeared on "Great Day SA" since her injury.
"I miss serving my community and I can't wait to see you all when I fully recover," she said in her social post. "I hope that you understand how much I love you, and how important being a journalist is to me."
She said she misses being on TV and hopes to return to the show when she is able. She also thanked everyone who has helped her, including the medical team and her fans.
"I would like to say thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, and a very special thank you to the amazing medical staff and therapists who have taken great care of me," she said. "Once I fully recover, I look forward to getting back to what I love, and it starts with loving you."
