NEW BRAUNFELS - It can be hard to find a suitable wedding date. So why not call on social media to find you one?
Sounds like something out of a movie but it's happening in the San Antonio area.
When one woman couldn't find a date to her ex’s wedding, she and her friend turned to social media.
The post has gone viral and now the challenge is getting the date to the wedding on time.
According to Buzzfeed, Stephanie Nelson posted to the entrepreneur Facebook group "The Rising Society." However, she was not looking for help building her brand.
The post read, "This is a long shot, but...?? Are there any handsome single guys that are 6ft+ and live in the Austin/S Antonio area and are free this Saturday?? Free food & alcohol! My wedding date bailed... It's my ex’s wedding.”
The post went viral and that's when Kyle Andrew Skinner was tagged. Skinner is a former contestant from the “Bachelorette Canada.”
Once he realized it was for a good cause he was all in.
But the only problem was funding so Nelson's friend created this GoFundMe that’s has raised $1,605 of their $2,000 goal.
This is a perfect example of when something starts rolling on social media, there is no knowing where it will end up.
If our timeline is correct, that means the wedding is in New Braunfels is this weekend.
We just hope Skinner makes it to escort Nelson.
