It's about time Pharrell's mega-hit Happy got the Weird Al treatment! In the music video for Tacky, Al sings:
"It might seem crazy wearing stripes with plaid. I Instagram every meal I've had. All my used liquid bottles are on display. We can go to see a show but I'll make you pay… Because I'm tacky!"
Like most Weird Al songs, the spoof is spot-on. Other hilarious "tacky" things mentioned in the song in between chants of "because I'm tacky" include:
"Never let you forget some favor I did for you."
"I meet some chick ask her this or that. Are you pregnant or just really fat?"
"Got my new resume it's printed in Comic Sans."
"Think it's fun threatening waiters with a bad Yelp review."
"Bring along my coupon book whenever I'm on a date."
"Took a whole bowl of restaurant mints, because you said they're free."
"I would live-tweet a funeral, take selfies with the deceased."
Comedians Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal and Jack Black make guest appearances in the video. Of course, they're in appropriately-tacky outfits.
The video, which premiered on Nerdist, is part of Weird Al's #8videos8days project, ahead of his Mandatory Fun album release. Yep, he'll have another video tomorrow!
