SAN ANTONIO — With so many homes being sold these days, it begs the question: Are scented candle sales through the roof? H-E-B might be sensing that need for more good-smelling scents to make homes more appealing to buyers since they've released a new line of "mouth-watering" candles.
Julie Bedingfield, Public Affairs Manager for H-E-B, said the grocery chain has a little something for everyone.
"H-E-B is excited to bring some of our favorite foods to candle form with the launch of Flavor Favorites," Bedingfield said. "The mouth-watering line of candles are available in most H-E-B’s across the state and include scents such as: Butter Tortilla, Blueberry Muffin, Cinnamon Rolls, The Cowboy Cookie, Two-Bite Brownies, Texas Wildflower Honey and Creamy Creations Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. Customers can choose from large jar ($12) and small jar ($5) options."
Bedingfield shared she was burning the Butter Tortilla candle when reached for comment and she said it was "lovely." H-E-B's website says the candle is "deliciously fresh" and reminiscent of "made in-store butter tortillas."
If the aroma of tortillas turns you off, there are sweeter scents to check out. Chocolate lovers may want to try a popular bakery favorite in wax form – obviously, minus the calories: the Two-Bite Brownies Scented Candle.
Each of the seven flavors all have the same colored wax: white. The Creamy Creations Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream variety could easily be confused for a tub of frosting, so be warned. It's described as "fresh cream, slow cooked the old fashioned way."
