SAN ANTONIO-- The coffee scene in San Antonio is awakening with every cup poured.
Hot, cold and even coffee cocktails are trending with caffeine fans.
“What we are seeing today is now more than ever places that you go eat at are starting to pay attention to the category of beverage,” founder of Pulp Coffee, James Mireles said.
One of those leading the charge is the team at Pulp Coffee.
“We just love going to places that have a really great coffee where we can enjoy a meal,” Mireles said.
You may have never heard of them, but you’ve probably have had their coffee.
Pulp Coffee Roasters is a three year-old wholesaler who prides themselves on putting out premium products.
"We just like helping other people build their brands with good quality products,” Mireles said.
Founder, James Mireles, knows a thing or two about roasting the perfect bean.
He was 17 when he started in the coffee business.
"It's been one of those things where once you are in it it's really hard to get out,” Mireles said. “When people would ask James what do you do? I would say I am in the people business. I just happen to serve coffee.”
Lately, Pulp Coffee Roasters have enjoyed collaborating with liquor companies to create custom coffee cocktails.
"We kind of see ourselves as chefs but in the coffee space because we are curating coffee for a particular spirit or a particular brand. And that's a fun part of what we do,” Mireles said.
And with more and more people moving to San Antonio the demand for higher quality coffee is there.
“Whether you are knowledgeable in coffee or not we want to be a friend and invite you to experience something you may have never experienced,” Mireles said.
