ALLENDALE, Mich. — It's the end of this season of "The Bachelor." Tonight fans from all over the country waited on the edge of their seats to find out what would happen with Joey. That includes a group of sorority students from Grand Valley State University (GVSU).
"I was like, it persisted on the fact that I was gonna apply to be on like, a season like, I love Joey. I want Joey," said Alyssa Steinke, GVSU senior and sorority member.
A couple of different sororities of Grand Valley State University hosted a watch Party Monday night to see The Bachelor season 28 finale. This season of The Bachelor featured Joey Graziadei as the bachelor and 32 potential women as love interests, the largest group ever on the show. Steinke said out of the remaining two women, Daisy and Kelsey, she hoped it would be Daisy who Joey picked.
"That's hard to like pick because he's definitely falling in love with both of them. And then he was just like talking to like his family and like they even said they can tell he's falling in love with both of them. Well, I feel like him and Daisy had like a strong connection. Like she got the first impression rose," said Steinke.
Another GVSU student said the reason why she and a lot of women love watching The Bachelor is because she becomes connected and invested with the love story people showcase on the screen.
"Yeah, it's one of those things where like a movie character like you grow to like fall in love with them, because that's how they kind of create it up to be. And with him. It's definitely the same. You've been watching for weeks on weeks, and then you just kind of get to fall in love with his character even more," said Paich.
The girls even played a game as part of their watch party for every time someone on The Bachelor cried. Steinke said watching The Bachelor with her sorority sisters and friends is a way for them to connect in sisterhood.
"Watching movies or stuff like that just like hanging out together. And so even though we're not in like the house right now who's hanging out with all your friends and like all bonded over this like super fun," said Steinke.
Kelsey Weir ended up winning this season of the bachelor. The Bachelorette for next season will be Jenn Trann from Joey's season.
