Gabriel has big dreams of becoming a music star but more importantly, finding his 'Forever Family'

Gabriel loves to sing! He loves to play football! He hopes, in fact, to maybe do both professionally down the road when he grows all the way up.

SAN ANTONIO — We reached out to the Alamodome about doing the interview on location in the UTSA/Brahmas locker room when we heard that 14-year-old Gabriel loved football, and they happily accommodated us.

But then the San Antonio Brahmas organization went even further! They offered Gabriel and his caseworker the opportunity to attend the Brahmas home game last weekend. They treated him like the king for the day! Good on them! The kid was smiling ear to ear from getting to go on the field to getting team schwag to sitting in suite side for the game! I asked him what all that was like?

"It was really good," he said. I told him us media types don't ever get that kind of treatment. He could only laugh! Lucky guy!

The 14-year-old has spent more than his fair share of time in the child welfare system. He's more than ready to find his 'Forever Family' adoptive home.

"It would be a real blessing to give me a family," he said. "I had a family, but there have been some issues. It would change lots helping me not to be mad and have a blessing. I wanna be with them and give them what I got."

Gabriel loves to sing! He loves to play football! He hopes, in fact, to maybe do both professionally down the road when he grows all the way up.

"I put a sign in my room that says 'Follow Your Dreams' and what I wanna do is sing," he said. But then I reminded him that he said he wanted to play professional football! "Well yah I do," he said. "I can do both."

We asked Gabriel what having that 'Forever Family' love might do for him.

"For me, a lot," he said. "I've been living in the foster system for a long time," he continued. "It would give me a lot to do with them."

I told Gabe it just might change his life. He agreed.
