Sisters Katrina and Mary looking for their 'Forever Family'

This sister duo is inseparable and needing family love.

SAN ANTONIO — The rain didn't stop us on Tuesday morning! It tried! But failed! We had the chance to meet foster sisters Katrina and Mary, seven and four years old, respectively.

The two little girls are full of life and into everything as you might imagine! They are sweet and only need that 'Forever Family' love to really help them blossom moving forward. Both girls have suffered trauma already in their young lives and the idea of being placed in any loving two parent home is the ideal situation.

We had the opportunity to visit with their SJRC Case Manager Daniela Esparza to learn more about the girls.

"Most likely any family that has experience with foster children because these girls have been through trauma," she said. "We need a family that understands and is experienced with all ages of children since they are three years apart."

Daniela also gave us the personality types of each one of the sisters.

"Mary is a firecracker and she will talk to anybody that will listen," Esparza said. "She first appears shy so she won' talk to you at first, but once she gets comfortable she will talk talk talk."

Daniela told us that big sister Katrina struggles with some verbal communication, but that she does communicate in her own way.

"Sometimes her verbal in a language that only she understands, but she is getting better," she said.

Below are the bio's provided by SJRC on what each sister loves!

Katrina adores cuddling with her stuffed plushies, creating sticker art, coloring, and matching colors. She loves counting, playing hide and seek, spinning in a circle, sliding down the slide, admiring herself in mirrors, and wearing earmuffs. Katrina's vibrant personality shines through her love for bright pinks, purples, and anything that lights up. Her close bond with her sister Mary is a significant source of happiness for her, whether they’re playing together, alone, or she’s engaging with other peers. Katrina fully embraces each moment, whether she’s running through the playground or joyfully shouting to the sky. Her enthusiasm for videos, especially those featuring Baby Shark and singing, is unmistakable. Additionally, Katrina enjoys eating tacos, sloppy joes, and oranges, which adds to her vibrant and cheerful personality.

Mary is a sweet, energetic, and confident child who loves playing with Barbies, baby dolls, plushies, sticker art, and coloring. She enjoys watching singing videos. While she likes swinging and spinning outdoors, she prefers indoor activities when it's hot but loves outdoor play in fresh air. French fries are her favorite treat. Mary is very bright; she can count to ten and knows her colors. Her close bond with her sister Katrina brings her happiness, whether they're playing together, alone, or she’s engaging with other peers. Mary has begun advocating for herself with fearless expression, taking on a leadership role in her everyday life. Her big personality shines through, and her smile lights up any room. Mary dreams of being a princess and adores purple.

The sisters have other siblings, but right now the goal is to keep these two sisters together for the best chance at success.

"They have already been separated from so many other siblings it would really be best to keep them together," Daniela said. "That's our primary goal. Their bond is extremely strong. They always ask for each other. And even though Katrina is the older one, Mary likes to take on the role of big sister. Their bond is very strong."
