SAN ANTONIO — In this edition of Grub or Flub, Luke takes a trip to MAAR's Pizza to take on their flying SAUCE-r sized pizza.

MAAR's Pizza is a family owned business located at 14218 Nacogdoches Road. The restaurant's name is made up of the names in their family who run the place:

  • Martha (Owner)
  • Ali (Daughter)
  • Ashley (Daughter)
  • Rene (Owner)
  • Son-in-laws (Nick and Daniel)

They're known for their cosmic menu which includes a giant 28-inch pizza that weighs approximately six to seven pounds after all the toppings are added.

It's not an official challenge where people get their picture on the wall or a t-shirt but people come in with a few buddies or family members to take it down together, usually taking home leftovers.

Nick Lara, manager and son-in-law, said the lowest amount of people to ever complete the pizza in one sitting was a group of three. He added that a couple came close but couldn't get down the last slice and some straggling pieces of crust.

Can Luke be the first person to travel to MAAR's and make it back with a Grub? Watch the episode below to find out!
