SAN ANTONIO — The 9th Annual Texas Kosher BBQ Championship is back for another year of food and family fun!
Each year, Congregation Agudas Achim presents the largest Kosher BBQ Championship in the country, in which all proceeds will benefit the San Antonio Jewish and wider community.
Join in on the good-old fashioned Texan hospitality on Sunday, November 3, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 16550 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78248.
The winning teams will receive a coveted belt buckle memorializing the BBQ, a grand prize check of $2,000 and bragging rights for a year. The winners of the People’s Choice competition receive a $250 cash donation to the charity of the team’s choice.
Entries are limited to 20 teams this year. They have 2,000 pounds of kosher brisket, chickens, fish and beans lined up for the competition, thanks to H-E-B and the BBQ committee. Sign up teams NOW to secure your spot in this uniquely kosher and Texas event.

Prizes and Bragging Rights
Championship Silver Belt Buckle and display case will be awarded for the Grand Champion along with a $2,000 cash prize. Second and third place winners will be awarded trophies in the following categories:
- Best Beef Brisket
- Best Fish
- Best Chicken
- Best Beans
In addition to the category winners chosen by blind judging, a People’s Choice winner in each of the four food categories will be announced. The People’s Choice winners will be determined by the highest number of votes cast by visitors to the event. Congregation Agudas Achim will donate $250 to the charity of the People’s Choice winning team in each category.
