SAWS giving away 1,000 drought-resistant plants on Saturday celebrating Spring

SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO – SAWS wants to help you get ready for the arrival of Spring with its annual front-yard party, Spring Bloom. 

SAWS will also be offering information about which garden styles suits to make your yard look great, all with great plants that can survive drought. 

They will also be giving out some of those plants to the first 1,000 adult guests at their headquarters located at 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 N. (at Mulberry Ave.) on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

You will have a choice from four types of WaterSaver plants including Autumn Sage, Barbeque Rosemary, Blue Sage, and Turk’s Cap.

Other activities include:

  • Browse the plant sales for native plants, herbs, and drought-tolerant ornamentals.
  • Discover the secrets to a tough-as-Texas landscape with interactive activities and practical tips on plant selection, mulching and more.
  • Dig in deeper on the topics of resilient landscape garden design and watering trees with our expert speakers and hear from Karen Guz, vice president of Conservation, about proposed changes to our community’s watering rules.
  • See demonstrations of SAWS new app, as well as ConnectH2O electronic water meters.
