SAN ANTONIO — Nurses at Baptist Health System NEST Women’s Services Units gave an "Olympics-sized surprise" to some new parents by dressing up their newborns as Olympic athletes in honor of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
From the marathon feeding schedules to the hurdles of sleepless nights and relay diaper changes, it can feel like an Olympic event for new Moms and Dads.
Tiny swimmers, martial arts athletes, weighlifters, boxers and tennis players were spotted in the nursery on Thursday.
“More precious than any medal a parent can have is a healthy newborn,” said Baptist Health System nurses in the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Units. “We’re proud to care for all of these beautiful families,” they said.
One of these newborns could be a future Olympian, ready to compete in 2040 after they turn 16. Go team U.S.A.!
