TROY, Texas — The Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team has called off their search for the missing Maynard family of Troy, the organization has announced.
A Celebration of Life and Candle Vigil will be held on Friday, August 30, at the Troy First Assembly of God, it will be from 5-8 p.m. followed by refreshments. At 8:15 p.m. the community will head to the baseball field as the Troy Baseball Association, will host The Candle Vigil in Honor of Colton and Brantley.

The Maynard family was reportedly lost at sea after their boat capsized off the coast of Alaska on Aug. 3.
The search and rescue team began their search for the family a few days after the Maynards were lost at sea. On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the team announced that they were ending their active search efforts.
"It is with great sadness, we are ending the active search efforts for the Maynard Family," the organization stated in a post on social media. "If something is located or possibly located in the future we will respond to assess what is located if requested by DPS. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the survivors, their family, friends and community."
On Saturday, Aug. 3, David Maynard, 42, his wife Mary, 37, and their two sons, Colton, 11, and Brantley, 7, were aboard a 28-foot aluminum boat with four others when it capsized 16 miles west of Homer Spit around 7 p.m. The four others survived, but the Maynards were never found, despite search efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard issued a radio broadcast in response to notify nearby vessels, including the Salty Sea, which rescued the four other occupants of the boat from a life raft within 15 minutes after the radio broadcast, according to KBBI.
The Coast Guard also executed a search for the Maynard family, which included sea and air crews. The Alaska State Troopers and many Samaritan vessel crews also helped in the efforts to find the Maynard family, the news release continued, however, the search was called off around 24 hours after the incident.
The Coast Guard told 6 News on Aug. 7 that the matter was no longer an active Coast Guard case, and they had no more information to provide.
The Troy community has come together in the wake of the tragedy. A GoFundMe for the family has already surpassed its $10,000 goal.
