SAN ANTONIO — KENS 5 team members were awarded in five categories at the 2024 Lone Star Emmys ceremony, including for reports on the anniversary of the Quintana Road human smuggling tragedy, the impediments of downtown construction for San Antonio businesses and a feature story about a retired airman’s long-awaited reunion with his lost class ring.
Veteran Reporter Sue Calberg and Chief Photographer Michael Humphries were also inducted into the chapter's Silver Circle, which honors standout journalists who have worked in the industry for at least 25 years. They join Anchor Deborah Knapp and former Anchor Chris Marrou.
Members of KENS 5's Marketing Department were also awarded for the San Antonio's Own campaign focusing on the culture, traditions and people of the Alamo City.
The ceremony was held Saturday evening at the Tobin Center. See the full list of KENS 5 winners below.
