Bonded pair of felines got to stay together! | Forgotten Friends

Ying is a bit shy, but Firecracker gives him the courage to be more outgoing.

CONVERSE, Texas — Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week’s Forgotten Friend is actually a bonded pair of felines at the Converse Animal Shelter whose names are Firecracker and Ying. This young pair of handsome boys have become the best of friends at the shelter and are rarely apart from one another.

Both cats have been living at the shelter for over a year now. Firecracker will be two years old at the beginning of July and Ying just turned two years old in January.

CASI says Firecracker was adopted from them as a kitten, then sadly abandoned six months later. The shelter says his owner decided they didn’t want him anymore and let him go outside. Thankfully, he was found and returned to the shelter because all of their pets are microchipped. Ying was brought to the shelter as a stray when he was about two months old.

"Firecracker and Ying both like to hangout and take naps, and you can often find them rubbing against each other in the cattery," said Lezlie Grimes, President, CASI, Inc. "They are always together. Where you find one, you will find the other."

Ying appears to be the shyer of the two kitties, but Firecracker gives him the courage he needs to be more outgoing.

MORE PHOTOS:

Shelter staff tell us that Firecracker will play with toys, but he’s kind of lazy about it and he won’t chase after them. But if you dangle a toy in front of him, he’ll definitely swat at it.

Ying doesn’t play with toys at all, but he does play with Firecracker!

Both kitties love wet food and kitty treats. Ying will even steal other cat's dry food.

"They are both cuddle bugs when it comes to each other," said Lezlie.

And they both like to be held but it has to be over the shoulder only!

Both of these boys are neutered, microchipped, fiv/felv negative and up to date on their vaccines. Won't you consider opening up your home to one, or better yet, both of them?

Because this bonded pair really needs to go home together, the fee to adopt BOTH of them is half of the price, only $150. Who's ready to step up and give these boys a loving home?
