KERRVILLE, Texas — Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.
This week's Forgotten Friend named Dale was impounded at Kerr County Animal Services for months and then just before the day she was to be euthanized, Kerrville Pets Alive pulled her from the shelter to save her life. For the last two years she has been boarded at a facility, just waiting for someone to bring her home to love.
Dale is super smart and has learned quite a few commands. One of her favorite things to play with is a rope toy. She weighs about 48 pounds, and has a beautiful red coat.
Dale loves kids and her dream home would be one that is very active with children to take her hiking, swimming and on nature walks. She is very eager to please her humans and also learns new things very quickly.
She absolutely loves people, and gets really excited when she first meets someone, but when the command "settle" is given, she goes into a sit right away.
Dale has lots of dog friends at the boarding facility, but what she really wants is a loving home of her own.
