KERRVILLE, Texas — UPDATE 5/7
We have great news to report. Drake was adopted on Monday by a KENS 5 viewer.
Lucy’s Doggy Daycare and Spa had the pleasure of pampering Drake (now known as Jake) at their Spa and said he was quite the gentleman! A special ARF-out to their staff for helping this good boy feel special. Now he is feeling spiffy with his tie and ready to put his best paw forward with a family that loves him. 🐾 Congrats Jake and Family!

Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.
This week's Forgotten Friend named Drake was found as a stray over a month ago, and then his owner never showed up to claim him from Kerr County Animal Services after being contacted. Now Drake is in danger of being euthanized very soon if he is not adopted.
Shelter staff tell us he has been at the shelter for over a month and he is one of their favorite dogs.
"He had been abused and was scared when he first got here, but he quickly figured out we were okay, and has blossomed into one happy go lucky guy," said shelter staff. He is dog-friendly, and people-friendly, and has the best personality, and will make you laugh all day."

Drake is a big teddy bear with a great smile. He is a three-year-old Pit mix and is friendly with folks of all ages. He is good with other dogs, but hasn't met any cats as of yet.
Drake is currently working on his house-training. He loves riding in cars and walks well on a leash.
If you are looking for an affectionate dog, look no further! "Drake craves being around people," said shelter staff.
He is current on all of his vccinations and will be neutered if you choose to adopt him.
