Spunky dog named Snoop loves everybody! | Forgotten Friends

He was found by a man in Blanco, who couldn't keep him permanently, but kept him for more than eight months until the shelter could take him in.

BULVERDE, Texas — Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week’s Forgotten Friend is Snoop, a Terrier mix who is a little over three years old who was found outside by a man in Blanco, Texas. Snoop waited almost eight months for a space to open up at the Bulverde Area Humane Society (BAHS) because the man who found him couldn't keep him. We aren't exactly sure why he keeps getting overlooked, but he sure is cute.

"Unfortunately, Snoop was kept outside the entire time so when we got him in August, he wasn't in the best shape, suffering from hair loss and he was skinny," said shelter staff.

This dog is so loving, to both people and more importantly, other dogs. Shelter staff believe he also gets along with cats.

"Snoop love everyone and everything," said Penny, Dog Coordinator at BAHS. He loves being petted!

Snoop would probably do bets with an active family because he has lots of energy. He loves to go on walks and does well on a leash, but Penny thinks a harness would work best because he's such a little guy.

"Snoop has the cutest little spunky personality, and you can see it in his photos," said Penny.

Snoop is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and waiting for you at the Bulverde Area Humane Society. He is heartworm negative, and on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative. He has tested positive for Chagas, but BAHS says they will pay for his treatment.

"Snoop deserves a family, which is something we don't know if he has ever had," said shelter staff.

For whoever adopts Snoop, Lucy's Doggy Daycare & Spa will be lending a paw by offering them a free "Glow Up" Day at the Spa, which includes a massage therapy bath and Pawdicure. One of Lucy's most cherished core values is to continue Lucy’s legacy of giving back to pups in need, as Lucy herself was a rescue!

If you are interested in adding Snoop into your family, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com.

The fee to adopt Bronx would be $200, which covers the cost of his healthcare, all vaccinations, flea preventative and more. The shelter has agreed to take care of the cost of treatment for Chagas.

Their adoption procedure starts with filling out an Adoption Contract, which can be downloaded here:

Adoption Contract CAT (pdf) - Adoption Fee $85

Your new friend will be ready for their new home after review by one of their Adoption Counselors.
All of their animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption and have been tested for heartworm or feline leukemia / aids. They all have their age appropriate vaccinations. All puppies, dogs & kittens are microchipped.

If you're considering adopting a dog who will join one already in your home, BAHS encourages "Meet and Greets." Visiting dogs must be spayed or neutered and have proof of current vaccinations. Talk to a shelter staff member about scheduling your "Meet and Greet" session before coming out with your dog.

The shelter is located at 3563 Kingsnake in Bulverde and they are open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For more information on adopting pets, please visit their website.

BAHS hosts a Reading to the Cats and Dogs event four times a year. The next one will be held in March, so check back on their Facebook page. It's an opportunity to grab your favorite book and come out to read to their animals from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Bronx enjoys it when kids stop by and read to him. ❤️️

All ages are welcome and the pets love it! There is no sign up necessary, all you need to do is arrive the day of the event with a book and closed toe shoes. After you get there, meet with them for a quick orientation before going off to read aloud to the dogs and cats. It's a great chance for kids to brush up on their reading skills while making the animals feel loved. Everyone benefits. Also great for older folks as well. Connect with animals while keeping your brain active.
