Still, AAA Texas says Beryl didn't have "as big of an impact as it could have" on the cost of fueling up.

SAN ANTONIO — Have you noticed it costs a bit more to fuel up your car this week? You're not alone.

AAA Texas said Thursday that the average cost for a gallon of gas rose seven cents across the state this week, to $3.17. That price is for a gallon of regular unleaded. San Antonio, meanwhile, is experiencing one of Texas' biggest rises in gas prices, with the cost at the pump averaging out to $3.19 a gallon as of Thursday; that's good for 15 cents more than a week ago.

Gas prices tend to rise in the aftermath of hurricanes, and though Beryl arrived with gusto Monday morning, AAA Texas officials say the storm "did not have as big of an impact as it could have."

AAA Texas added, however, that it's still very early in the hurricane season, meaning drivers could see steeper cost increases amid major storms in the next few months.

Despite gas prices in El Paso dropping over the past week, drivers in that West Texas city are still paying the most in the state for a gallon of regular unleaded: $3.45. Even that is below the national average, which as of Thursday stands at $3.54 per gallon.

Houston and Dallas each saw the cost for a gallon of gas go up less than 10 cents, while Austin drivers are paying an average of 11 cents more.

Here's how much it costs for a gallon of gas at most Texas cities this week:

  • Abilene: $3.13

  • Beaumont-Port Arthur: $3.05
