DALLAS — Have you ever had one ice cream flavor you loved, and then one day-- it disappears from the freezer aisle?
For those who have experienced that heartbreak, Blue Bell announced a new tournament to bring back one of 16 of their discontinued flavors.
It's called "The Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament", and it puts 16 fan-favorite flavors head-to-head in a bracket, where only one flavor will win out.
For the first round, Blue Bell is pairing similar flavors, and fans will vote to decide which one advances.
The Texas-based creamery is only available in 23 states, mostly across the Southeast. They offer 24 year-round flavors like their iconic Homemade Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate.
Several seasonal options rotate in and out of production throughout the year. This summer's flavors include Tin Roof and Gooey Butter Cake to celebrate their expansion into the St. Louis market.
According to a Blue Bell spokesperson, the creamery has produced more than 300 flavors throughout the company's history.
