Small Business Saturday in San Antonio | Three unique spots offering coffee, plants, gifts and more

KENS 5 reporter Meredith Haas shows us three local spots to support in San Antonio this Small Business Saturday.

SAN ANTONIO —

Poppy's Coffee House

Poppy's Coffee House is run by a mom and daughter and invites the community to sip some good drinks with Snoopy when they have the chance.

The coffee shop will be open this Small Business Saturday for everyone to enjoy.

Sierra Solis and her mother established their physical location at 6417 Evers Road in April of this year. Ever since they've been brewing up joy for everyone.

“We’re just proud of each other…being where we are and the success we’ve had," Solis said.

Solis added that they have a selection of homemade drinks, along with six new seasonal drinks.

If you miss them Sunday they will also have a Holiday Market with 20 other local vendors in their parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Evergreen Garden will have discounts on Small Business Saturday.

Evergreen Garden Center

Evergreen Garden Center has been a family-run business for 27 years and has a host of discounts this Saturday.

The whole store will be 20% off, while trees, shrubs and flowering perennials are also on sale.

"Small Business Saturday is just really important to stimulate the local economy…and it’s really important for us to stay around and provide these services to the local people," Devin Mendoza with Evergreen Garden Center said.

Feliz Modern will have multiple small businesses at their West Olmos location.

Feliz Modern

Feliz Modern is taking Small Business Saturday to the next level by inviting nine other small businesses to set-up shop in front of their store on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“It’s going to be in collaboration with the coffee shop next-door, Rose Hip…so they will also have some makers and artists up front," Assistant Manager Christina Samano said.

Samano said she and the store's owners are looking forward to supporting these local businesses and many of the ones in attendance are women owned.

The store itself will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday and will feature their own sales in the back room.

“If anybody thinks of buying a gift they should think local first," Samano said. "Everybody wins with that purchase and it goes back into the community."
