A window into the life of an heiress is emerging at the Vogt Gallery in San Antonio. Pace Picante heiress Linda Pace’s personal items are on display, providing a glimpse into her life as an art collector and philanthropist.
The Vogt Gallery showcase features sterling silver, antiques, fine carpets and other items.
The 2,000 pieces are on display ahead of the weekend option. You can even take a seat in some of the items to see if you’d want to buy them.
No minimum bid is required.
“Retail, you’re looking at tens of thousands [of dollars]. So, in the auction world, we’re looking at a different set of values. So they’re going to be a much lower price than going out and buying anything retail,” said Katy Alexander of the Vogt Auction House.
Art pieces by well-known local artist Franco Mondini Ruiz will be for sale at the auction as well. One of his pieces available sells for $2600 retail, but could be had for around $1500 at auction.
“This is New York-scale artwork here in San Antonio,” potential bidder Michaelangelo Carmona said.
Proceeds from the Saturday and Sunday auction will be donated for the construction of a contemporary art museum in Southtown called Ruby City. The museum will house Pace’s prized art collection.
