SAN ANTONIO, Texas — It doesn't get more San Antonio than barbacoa and Big Red! The delectable combination has been served up at local eateries and taco trucks longer than the Spurs have been winning championships.

A local festival has celebrated the delicious treat for the last 8 years and will be returning this Sunday, May 19.
The Barbacoa & Big Red Festival's ninth annual event will be taking place at a new location this year. Chefs will bring their take on the San Antonio staple to the Greenline Park, a nice but under-used area and trail at Brooks on the city's Southside.
Along with tasty tacos, the festival will feature live music and vendors in what the event says is a "children friendly atmosphere."
Awards are also given for the best take on barbacoa. More information can be found at the festival's website.
