'We hope everyone feels united.' | Nonprofit hosts 2nd annual walk for missing persons, victims of unsolved crimes

October is also the awareness month for domestic violence. Quite a few of the missing persons here, that we represent today are victims of domestic violence.

SAN ANTONIO — Walking with a purpose. The nonprofit Search & Support San Antonio held a walk Saturday afternoon for missing persons, victims of unsolved crimes and to walk united against domestic violence.

The 2nd annual 5K Boot & Heels walk took place at McCallister Park.

The nonprofit helps and supports families of the missing and victims of unsolved crimes.

Nina Brooks, President and Founder with the nonprofit, says the walk gives some of their families hope.

“We hope everybody feels united, are healed and that we advocate for them, and the support you see in our group today. This is the hope,” said Brooks.

Families also walked united against domestic violence.

October is domestic violence awareness month, and Brooks says several of the families they represent are victims of domestic violence.
