Ballet San Antonio continues holiday tradition with The Nutcracker

There will be eight performances in total.

SAN ANTONIO — Ballet San Antonio is ringing in the holiday season with their annual production of The Nutcracker. 

26 professional ballet dancers, 120 local children and community figures in the role of Mother Ginger will perform along with live music by The Orchestra San Antonio at the Tobin Center in eight performances from Dec. 6-15. 

Tickets are available at tobincenter.org, by phone at 210-223-8624, or in person at the Tobin Center Box Office on 100 Auditorium Circle. 

Performance dates: 

  • Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 7 at 2 p.m. 
  • Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m.
  • Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 14 at 2 p.m. 
  • Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m.

San Antonio's professional ballet company also customized their performances for local students through its "Send the Kids to the Ballet" program. 2,200 children from underserved communities will experience The Nutcracker along with 3,500 children from Title I schools thanks to donations. 

Ballet San Antonio is also hosting The Nutcracker Sweets & Treats Party, where guests can meet the professional dancers and see excerpts from the iconic ballet.
