San Antonio residents invited to take advantage of free landfill day this Saturday

Customers can drop off accepted items from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Republic Services Landfill, Waste Management Landfill or the Texas Disposal System.

SAN ANTONIO — The City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department is inviting customers to take advantage of free landfill day Saturday. 

Customers can drop off accepted items from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Republic Services Landfill, Waste Management Landfill or the Texas Disposal System. 

Customers must bring a valid photo ID and a copy of their recent CPS Energy bill showing payment of the city's environmental fee. Residents who do not show these documents will be charged the regular disposal fees. All loads must be covered with a tarp and customers are highlight encouraged to wear a safety vest. 

Accepted Material:

  • Household bulky items like appliances, furniture, and mattresses
  • Carpet, fencing material, water heaters, and toilets
  • Tires (limit six passenger vehicle tires per household)

 

Unaccepted Material:

  • Roofing material, sheet rock, dirt, brick, brush, lumber, construction materials
  • Industrial or commercial waste
  • Any waste being transported in a branded commercial vehicle
