Deals on back-to-school clothes, supplies offered at Goodwill San Antonio starting Friday

Families will be able to save money, support the community and make a positive environmental impact if they shop at Goodwill.

SAN ANTONIO — Some thrift stores in the San Antonio area are offering fashionable clothing and essential items at budget-friendly prices during tax-free weekend.

Goodwill San Antonio understands that as families prepare for the 2024-2025 school year the financial burden of shopping for new supplies and clothes can be overwhelming.

They are offering 50% off all clothing at their retail stores starting August 9 through August 11 in an effort to alleviate the shopping stress.

“When you shop or donate at Goodwill you’re helping support our mission of helping change lives through the power of work and we do that by creating good jobs, career training and employment placing services. And all of these are offered at no cost to our community," Digital Communications Specialist Vanessa Mallari said.

Goodwill San Antonio has also created a Back-to-School Look Book that showcases fashionable outfits that can be assembled using donated items.

"Everyone has different styles and the great thing about Goodwill is that we have so much to offer for everyone. We have pants, shoes, skirts whatever you need and just really seeing what people create is really cool to see," Mallari said.

Goodwill San Antonio has served the community since 1945 with their mission to help change lives through the power of work.

They have offered countless opportunities for people who have a hard time acquiring job readiness and job training skills through Goodwill's Good Careers Academy and Good Careers Center. These programs are offered free of charge thanks to local donors and shoppers.

Back-to-school season, Fiesta and Halloween are the busiest time of year for Goodwill.
