SAN ANTONIO — A local church is hosting a special event this Saturday on the southeast side where children and families can walk away with free school supplies.
The Southeast Baptist Church is hosting their Back To School Bash on July 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or until supplies last at 2414 South WW. White Road. People can start lining up at 8:30 a.m. but students must be present.
The event will be set up with a carnival theme where children can go booth to booth to play games for a chance to win free school supplies. Over 30 vendors will also be at the event.
The Southeast Baptist Church buys thousands of dollars’ worth of school supplies using money they raised with their Closing Closet. The Clothing Closet has been open for three years now and has given over $7,000 back into the community.
The Southeast Baptist Church helps the community by providing food to the homeless, clothes for children in need, and participating in many other events.
