SAN ANTONIO — A new, uniquely inclusive hotel is set to open in the Alamo City in 2026 on the northeast side.
Morgan's Hotel is set to be built near the famous Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio and comes from the creators of that all-inclusive theme park.
Officials said the hotel will go beyond standard ADA regulations to provide a comfortable space for visitors of all ages and abilities.
“I am confident that this new hotel concept will remove barriers and tremendously enhance the lodging experience for everyone,” said Morgan's founder Gordon Hartman in a press release. “This will certainly be a hotel for everyone including those with disabilities who, going forward, will feel more included, valued and fulfilled."
Plans for the hotel include special features like wider hallways, easy access to elevators, larger guest rooms, and common areas designed to accommodate people with disabilities and the older population.
Morgan's Hotel will also provide specialized services including staff trained in disability etiquette, assistance with mobility devices, and accommodations like hearing aids, sensory-sensitive colors and lighting within the hotel.
Officials hope the San Antonio hotel will "serve as a model for future Ultra-Accommodating hotels, prompting a cultural shift in the hospitality industry."
“Morgan’s Hotel will do for the hospitality industry what our other entities have done—create spaces where everyone feels welcomed and included,” Hartman said.
Morgan's is the umbrella organization that oversees five ultra-accessible venues including Morgan's Hotel and Morgan's Wonderland. While Morgan’s Wonderland is a San Antonio experience, the story of its creation will soon be shared with a much wider audience in the form of a Hollywood movie now in development from SR-48 and TV producer Sean Robbins.
