New mini-golf course opening in San Antonio near UTSA campus

Executives at PopStroke say the venue combines casual dining and entertainment that's fitting for all ages.

SAN ANTONIO — A new miniature-golf entertainment venue is coming to the Alamo City this Friday. 

PopStroke is set to open October 25 at 10 a.m. at 5539 Presidio Parkway near Six Flags and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Executives at PopStroke say the venue combines casual dining and entertainment that's fitting for all ages.

“When guests come to PopStroke they can expect to have a wonderful time. There's just a little bit of something for everyone," Chief People Officer Timothy Glita said.

Guests will be able to play on two different 18-hole putting courses, order food from their restaurant, ice cream parlor and bar with a variety of options including signature cocktails and craft beer. 

In addition, guests can also play a variety of "yard games" like cornhole, ping-pong and foosball. There is also a playground area for children. 

“We think PopStroke is going to have a great impact on San Antonio. We’re going to provide a one-of-a-kind unique, experience for guests whether they want to come and eat and drink, or just come out and putt and have a wonderful time golfing," Glita said. 

The location marks the company's 16th overall location and fourth in the state of Texas. 

"There’s a lot of wonderful families in this area, there’s a lot of military bases here in San Antonio. All of these things in which we think are really important and we want to be part of a community like this," Glita said.

Glita mentioned that his favorite part about PopStroke is the convenience of the mobile app. He said guests who arrive should download the app in order to better control their overall experience. The app will allow people to keep score, order food and beverages whether they are inside the restaurant or out on the course 

"We think we’re going to be the number one entertainment venue in San Antonio. We provide a unique putting experience. We have a wonderful restaurant with food and beverages, and we’re really excited about the staff. We’ve hired over 100 individuals to help give a wonderful experience to our guests and we’re just really excited to be a part of the community," Glita said. 

The miniature-golf entertainment company is owned by Greg Bartoli, Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf Company.
