SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio organization City Problem Solvers Inc. wants you to join their movement to clean up the city.

The group is behind a campaign intended to continue year-round as a reminder to all residents that they're not alone when it comes to the fight against pollution. That's an especially acute struggle in San Antonio, which was ranked the seventh-dirtiest U.S. city in a 2023 study

You can adopt your own community spot using the city Adopt A Spot Program or by joining them at one of their existing predetermined cleanup locations, which will be held on specific dates. During the cleanups, volunteers will be picking up litter with trash-grabbers and five-gallon buckets, making a difference to help clean up the city.

City Problem Solvers' campaign "The San Antonio Cleanup Countdown" will kick off Saturday, with a cleanup event set to last from 9 a.m. to noon. Each month they will visit a different district to pick up trash, starting with District 10 this weekend

The meetup location is the Stone Ridge Square parking lot, located at 12303 Wetmore Road, San Antonio TX 78247. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. District 9 will be the cleanup target on April 27, while dates for the remaining districts have yet to be determined (find the cleanup calendar here, or scan the QR code in the flyer below).

Edmund Olszewski, president of City Problem Solvers Inc., says the organization wants to help brighten up the city while bringing together community leaders to do meaningful work in helping the environment.

"We're doing this campaign because it's a great way to show people throughout the year that you're not alone in the fight against pollution," Olszewski said. "We always need to be thinking about what is coming up next that we can be a part of to make a difference in the health and wellbeing of our city and the people that live in it."
