SAN ANTONIO — A local restaurant and church are working together in an effort to feed and help the homeless population in San Antonio Sunday.
Alamo Biscuit Company and Panaderia owner John Vale said his staff is preparing to donate and serve 150 hot meals to the less fortunate. The San Antonio Church of Hope volunteers will also be handing out food and supplies.
This giveback event will take place at the UTSA Downtown Campus in student parking lot D3 at the corner of I-35 and W César E Chávez Boulevard at 2 p.m.
Vale said that despite the challenging times and rise in inflation he recognizes that people living on the streets still need help.
He encourages other area businesses to consider donating food or services to help those in need.
Vale said this event will be the first of a monthly community give back. He plans to hold the event on the second or fourth Sunday of every month.
