SAN ANTONIO — Two Comal ISD winter guard teams placed at the state-level competition this spring, according to school district officials.
Smithson Valley High School placed third in their division at state and Davenport High School placed fourth in its division.
During the contest, each team had the opportunity to perform in front of judges. The judges focused on movement, design, equipment and general effect.
On April 6, Smithson High School and Davenport High School competed in the Texas Color Guard Circuit at Texas A&M University and advanced to the state-level contest.
Davenport High School was the only 4A team to advance to the state level competition.
Canyon Lake High School also advanced to state.
